This may sound crazy, but put them in the freezer. Once the gum is frozen, it should just break off. Good luck.

Reply:On your jeans, apply an ice cube for a few minutes and scrape off the bulk of the frozen gum. Then for both the shoes and the jeans, use a product called, GOOF-OFF which is for removing tar, paint and gum. It works!

As long as they%26#039;re not all or mostly leather, washing them in the washing machine is fine. The mesh should come clean, but you can pretreat, soak, and/or use a little bleach (color safe if there are other colors on the shoe that can bleed onto the white) to assist.

Reply:Oxy-clean and ammonia can be mixed with warm water to scrub out the mud with a generous amount of the solution and a tough cloth or just your hands and finger nails. rinse and let dry. if you want you can tumble dry them for a few minutes with a load of laundry to bring back the softness

How do you wash mesh shoes?

I spray them with a stain spray (Spray %26amp; Wash for example) and detergent (Don%26#039;t use bleach unless they are white and 100% cotton tops. Bleach causes polyesters to turn an ugly color that is almost impossible to change ) and put them in the washer with white towels on gentle cycle and let air dry (NOT in dryer) If they are dark put them in the washer with jeans. You can add about a cup of baking soda to make them smell fresh.

Preferably leather, not mesh. Any of the following styles will do: standard work shoe appearance, boot or or non-mesh running/tennis shoe-style. Non-mesh, because the management here doesn%26#039;t want anything that is flammable. I am an engineer and I am out on the shop floor 50% of the time vs. at my desk.

Try using laundry detergent (Gain) and a toothbrush. That might work. I%26#039;ve used it on my shoes and it seemed to work ok. Probably best not to use bleach, it might stain your shoes a yelow color or it might make your shoes fall apart.
